Hello I'm Kiira

My Story

I've loved animals from an early age and, over the years have cared for dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, rabbits, a cockatoo and a tortoise. As a child, I was fortunate to have weekly horse riding lessons and have continued to ride  throughout my life. I've always loved the outdoors and spent eight years living on a 400-acre National Trust estate with dogs, chickens and bees.

Although I studied art, craft and design at college, I spent most of my career working as a Learning and Development professional in the corporate world, while practicing art in my spare time. In 1995 I qualified in the Japanese relaxation art of Reiki which I practiced for many years, benefiting my own health and well being.

During lockdown, I deepened my art practice and eventually stepped away from my full time corporate job to work part time as a freelance business trainer. I refreshed my Reiki Level I qualification and attained Reki level II enabling me to extend my practice to helping others at health and well being events. I also trained in animal Reiki.

Having said a sad goodbye to my last dog Murphy in 2019, a 14 year old rescue collie cross, I decided not to get another dog so I could enjoy the freedom of independent travel. But I missed having animals in my life and joined Borrow My Doggy where I met Paige & Ben and their King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Ruby. Over 4 years of caring for Ruby while Ben and Paige were at work or on holiday, I developed a special bond with this little ginger princess. Despite having multiple health challenges, she was the funniest and most loving dog you could ever meet.

Caring for Ruby inspired me to offer house and pet sitting for friends and family, and in January 2024,
I officially started my pet sitting business in partnership with Pet Sitting Angels. My experience now includes caring for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, fish, chickens, ducks. bearded dragons, tortoises and goats.

Sadly, Ruby passed away in 2024. To honour her life and keep her memory alive, I painted a watercolour portrait of her sunbathing in my garden for Paige and Ben. They gave me a beautiful pendant necklace containing some of Ruby's ashes.

VEVA translates as " Long Live" or "Alive" encapsulating the heart and soul of my work - providing attentive loving care of my clients' homes and pets, channeling Reiki life force energy for their well being, and celebrating the vibrant spirit of the animals who enrich their lives through beautiful, personalised artwork.
